MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE

โ

The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change.

Carl Rogers

ENGLISH
Write a haiku about a moment in nature that you find beautiful. Remember, a haiku has 3 lines with 5, 7, and 5 syllables.

Here is my attempt:

Soft rain on leaves,

A gentle drumming fills the air.

Peace fills the world.

Ed

I was hoping you could send me your haiku to [email protected], so I can share it with my audience.

SCIENCE

Biscuit Bridge Building Challenge!

Let's see who can build the strongest bridge using only biscuits and icing.

Ingredients:

  • Biscuits (digestives, rich tea, or similar)

  • Ready-to-use icing (or make your own with icing sugar and water)

Instructions:

  • Plan your bridge design: Think about how to make it strong and stable.

  • Construct your bridge: Use icing as "cement" to stick the biscuits together.

  • Test your bridge: Carefully place small objects (coins, toy cars, etc.) on top of the bridge. How much weight can it hold before collapsing?

Science Behind the Challenge:

This activity explores concepts like structural engineering, weight distribution, and material properties. You'll learn how different shapes and arrangements of biscuits affect the strength of the bridge, and how icing acts as an adhesive to hold it together.

Tips:

  • Experiment with different biscuit types and icing consistencies.

  • Think about the shape of your bridge: arches, triangles, and other geometric shapes can be very strong.

Have fun and get creative with your designs! Be sure to tag us on social media to see your results! Good luck!
