Education's purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.

ENGLISH
Poem Writing: Safe Haven

  • Find your sanctuary, your haven of peace.

  • Close your eyes, and let your imagination flow free.

  • Write a free verse poem about a place where worries fade,

  • Where comfort and calm gently cascade.

Is it a sun-drenched beach with whispering waves?

A cosy nook filled with beloved books and tales?

A forest path where sunlight filters through leaves?

Or a bustling kitchen filled with laughter and sweet treats?

Share your poem with us and let others discover their own havens through your words.

SCIENCE
Rainbow in a Jar ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿงช

Let's create a colourful science experiment right in a jar!

You'll Need:

  • A clear jar or glass

  • Different coloured liquids (e.g., water mixed with food colouring, fruit juice, vegetable oil)

  • Honey or golden syrup

  • Dish soap

  • A spoon

Instructions:

  • Carefully pour the honey or golden syrup into the bottom of the jar.

  • Slowly add the dish soap, then each coloured liquid, one at a time, tilting the jar slightly to avoid mixing the layers.

  • Observe the beautiful rainbow effect in the jar!

The Science Behind It:

The liquids create layers because they have different densities. Denser liquids, like honey, sink to the bottom, while less dense liquids, like oil, float on top.

Discussion:

  • What other liquids could you use to create layers?

  • Can you find out the densities of different liquids and predict how they will layer?

  • How does this experiment relate to the different layers of the Earth?

  • How does density affect objects in our everyday lives?

Share Your Rainbow:

Take a photo of your rainbow jar and share it with us on social media! We'd love to see your colourful creations.
