Your Mission:

  1. Choose a favourite recipe (e.g., cookies, cake, pizza).

  2. Look at the ingredient list and identify the fractions used (e.g., 1/2 cup, 1/4 teaspoon, 3/4 cup).

  3. If the recipe is for a certain number of servings (e.g., 12 cookies), calculate how much of each ingredient you would need to make half the recipe or double the recipe.

  4. Get creative in the kitchen! With adult supervision, try making the recipe and adjusting the ingredient amounts based on your calculations.
