MATHS
Festive Fractions! 🎄🎁

Let's deck the halls with boughs of holly... and fractions!

Your Mission:

  1. Christmas Cookies: Imagine you're baking a batch of Christmas cookies. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of butter, and 3/4 cup of flour.

    • If you want to make twice as many cookies, how much of each ingredient will you need?

    • If you want to make half as many cookies, how much of each ingredient will you need?

  2. Present Wrapping: You have 2 and 1/2 rolls of wrapping paper. You use 1 and 3/4 rolls to wrap presents. How much wrapping paper do you have left?

  3. Holiday Baking: You're making a gingerbread house and need to cut a gingerbread rectangle into different fractions for the walls and roof.

    • Cut one rectangle into thirds.

    • Cut another rectangle into sixths.

    • Cut a third rectangle into quarters.

    • Which fraction is the biggest: 1/3, 1/6, or 1/4?

Bonus Challenge:
