ENGLISH
Become a News Reporter! π°
Introduction: Today, we're going to put on our reporter hats and write our own news articles!
Materials: Paper, pencils, your keen observation skills!
Activities:
Choose a Topic: Think about something interesting that has happened recently β it could be something in your family, your community, or even something you learned about in another subject. Choose a topic that you think would make a good news story. π€
The 5 Ws: A good news article answers the 5 Ws: Who, What, When, Where, and Why. Think about these questions in relation to your chosen topic. Who was involved? What happened? When did it happen? Where did it happen? Why did it happen? β
Headline: Come up with a catchy headline that will grab the reader's attention. It should give a brief summary of the story. π°
Write the Article: Write your news article, answering the 5 Ws and including any other important details. Use clear and concise language. You can even draw a picture to go with your article! βοΈ
Interview (Optional): If possible, interview someone who was involved in the event you're writing about. This can add more details and make your story more interesting. π£οΈ
Helpful Tip: Read news articles to get ideas about how they are structured and written.
GEOGRAPHY
Continents and Countries! π
Introduction: Today, we're going on a journey around the world, learning about continents and countries!
Materials: A world map, coloured pencils, a computer or tablet (optional).
Activities:
Continent Challenge: Can you name all seven continents? (North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica). Colour each continent a different colour on your map. πΊοΈ
Country Focus: Choose one country from each continent to research. Find out its capital city, its flag, its population, and some interesting facts about its culture and geography. π
Travel Brochure: Imagine you are creating a travel brochure for one of the countries you researched. What are the must-see attractions? What kind of food do they eat? What is the weather like? Design your brochure with pictures and information. βοΈ
World Quiz: Create a quiz about the continents and countries you learned about. Test your family and friends! β
Helpful Tip: Learning about different countries and cultures helps us understand the world better and appreciate its diversity.
JOKE
A giggle a day keeps the learning blues away!
Q: Why did the student bring a frog to school?
