Introduction: Let's explore the beautiful world of symmetry, just in time for Valentine's Day!

Materials: Paper, pencils, scissors, heart-shaped cookie cutters (optional), paint or coloured pencils.

Activities:

1. Heart Symmetry: Draw a heart on a piece of paper. Can you draw a line of symmetry through the heart so that both halves are exactly the same? ❤️

2. Symmetrical Shapes: Cut out different shapes (squares, circles, triangles) and fold them in half. Do they have a line of symmetry? Which shapes are symmetrical? ✂️

3. Valentine's Day Designs: Use heart-shaped cookie cutters or draw your own hearts to create symmetrical Valentine's Day designs. You can paint or colour them and add other symmetrical patterns. 💖

4. Mirror Images: Use a mirror to create mirror images of shapes and patterns. How does the mirror image change when you move the mirror? 🪞
