ENGLISH
Recipe for a Story! โœ๏ธ

Introduction: Today, we're going to use a recipe as inspiration for a creative story!

Materials: Paper, pencils, a favourite recipe (or find one online).

Activities:

  1. Recipe Reading: Read through your chosen recipe carefully. Pay attention to the ingredients, the instructions, and the overall tone. ๐Ÿ“–

  2. Story Ingredients: Think about how you can turn the recipe into a story. The ingredients can become characters, the instructions can become plot points, and the overall flavour of the dish can inspire the theme of your story. ๐Ÿค”

  3. Mix It Up: Start writing your story! You can follow the recipe loosely or take it in a completely different direction. Maybe the flour is a mischievous fairy, or the mixing bowl is a portal to another world. ๐Ÿงšโ€โ™€๏ธ

  4. Taste Test: Once you've finished your story, read it aloud. Does it have the right flavour? Does it leave the reader with a satisfying feeling, like a delicious meal? ๐Ÿ˜‹

Helpful Tip: Don't be afraid to get creative and have fun with it! The recipe is just a starting point.

FOOD & NUTRITION
Kitchen Chemistry! ๐Ÿงช

Introduction: Let's explore the science behind cooking with some fun kitchen experiments!

Materials: Baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice, different fruits and vegetables, a cutting board, a knife (with adult supervision), bowls, measuring cups and spoons.

Activities:

  1. Baking Soda Volcano: Mix baking soda and vinegar in a bowl. What happens? This is a chemical reaction! You can even add some food colouring to make it look like a volcano. ๐ŸŒ‹

  2. Acidic Foods: Experiment with different acidic foods like lemon juice and vinegar. How do they change the taste of other foods? Try adding a squeeze of lemon to a salad or a dash of vinegar to some roasted vegetables. ๐Ÿ‹

  3. Fruit and Vegetable Reactions: Cut open different fruits and vegetables. Do they change colour when exposed to air? This is because of oxidation. How can you slow down this process? (Hint: lemon juice can help!) ๐ŸŽ

  4. Taste Test Challenge: Try a blind taste test with different fruits and vegetables. Can you identify them just by their taste and smell? ๐Ÿ˜‹

Helpful Tip: Always have adult supervision when conducting kitchen experiments, especially when using knives or heat.

JOKE
