Introduction: Let's become data detectives and learn how to collect and interpret information!
Materials: Paper, pencils, a clipboard (optional), your detective hats!
Activities:
Data Collection: Choose a topic to collect data on. It could be anything that interests you! For example, you could collect data on the types of birds you see in your garden, the colours of cars that pass by your house, or the favourite ice cream flavours of your friends. ๐ฆ๐๐ฆ
Tally Time: Use tally marks to record your data. Each tally mark represents one observation.
Data Display: Create a chart or graph to display your data. You can use a bar graph, a pie chart, or a pictograph. Which type of graph best represents your data? ๐
Data Analysis: Look at your chart or graph. What does it tell you? What is the most common observation? What is the least common? Can you draw any conclusions from your data? ๐ค
